Global DRAM output highlights DDR2 shortage in January.

Global DRAM output dropped by 0.4% sequentially to 671.8 million 256Mbit equivalent units in January with DDR output falling 0.3% and DDR2 falling 3.6%, according to DRAMeXchange. DRAMeXchange noted that demand for DDR2 accounted for 55-60% of total DRAM demand, a much higher proportion than is currently supplied.
