Based on your programming skills and preferences you can use one tool or another, however it is helpful to know the typical recommendations in tools selection:
1. eConnect. This tool was specially recommended and initially dedicated to eCommerce web developers, who are linking e-commerce site with GP ERP as accounting back office. eConnect was introduced to serious integration around 2004.
