Kingmax migrates memory to DDR2.

Kingmax Semiconductor will introduce its latest series of DDR2 memory modules, "Mars"; and "Venus"; at this year"s Computex Taipei show. These two memory modules are fully compliant with the EU"s RoHS standards and demonstrate Kingmax"s commitment to environmental protection.

Atom Processors To Affect Both VIA And SiS As Intel Preps Own-brand Mobos For Embedded Markets.
Amid the announcement of Intel"s new low-power processors, Atom, and corresponding platform for mobile Internet devices (MIDs) and Internet-centric computers, sources at Taiwan motherboard makers have revealed that Intel is planning to also introduce Atom processors along with supporting motherboards for the embedded market soon, a move which is likely to impact both VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS). The new Atom processor will come in two versions, single-core and dual-core, and so Intel has codenamed their respective motherboards Little Falls and Little Falls 2, the sources revealed.

Samsung ships more than 15 million GDDR3 memory units.
Samsung said it shipped more than 15 million units of its Graphics Double Data-Rate (GDDR3) graphic memory in 2004. The memory currently is available in a 128 MByte version for notebooks as well as 256 and 512 MByte versions for desktops. Clock speeds of the 8x32 graphics memory are 500 and 700 MHz and offers 56 percent more performance than GDDR1 memory. (THG)
