Metrix Enters Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Market

Hosted "Metrix OnDemand" solution to help field service organizations through recession MILWAUKEE, WI, April 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Metrix, the field service software company, today announced their new software-as-a-service (SaaS) product, called "Metrix OnDemand," at the Field Service 2009 conference near Palm Springs, California. The new Metrix offering enables companies to utilize an internet-based service to automate their field service delivery processes on a per-user, per-month basis. Metrix OnDemand is a business software application for automating customer support, dispatch, field service, spare parts, repair and reverse logistics. Metrix"s comprehensive functionality will immediately attract service organizations that want the benefits of an on-demand system, but have been disappointed with the weak field service automation features of existing SaaS solutions. "The economic crisis has put enormous pressure on service executives to increase profits and decrease costs without impacting budgets or adding risk," said Larry Laux, CEO of Metrix. "With Metrix OnDemand, your business can be up-and-running on a high-powered service system in a week." Metrix OnDemand is a lower cost alternative to traditional on-premise software licensing and significantly decreases risk for companies. Rapid implementation, little IT involvement, no hardware investment and subscription pricing can help midsize service businesses and large service divisions improve profitability, especially those still waiting on the "company-wide" rollout of SAP or Oracle. Additional advantages of Metrix OnDemand include: • Drag-and-drop scheduling • Configurable rules engine • Installed base tracking • Shipping and receiving • Contract-based pricing • RMA order management "Our current research indicates a growing and broader interest in the flexibility offered by on-demand solutions for service, such as Metrix OnDemand," said Sumair Dutta, Senior Research Analyst at the AberdeenGroup. "Given the current business environment, the timing is perfect for Metrix to offer an end-to-end service lifecycle management solution via SaaS, and to leverage their deep industry experience and robust product arsenal to break through any remaining functionality-related compromises associated with going on-demand."
