NoMachine"s Premium Partner to Host Community Networking Workshops

Millenux Hosts a series of roundtables covering adaptations of NoMachine NX within Linux environments ROME, ITALY, January 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- NoMachine, creator of NX remote access software, will be featured in Millenux GmbH new monthly workshops on Linux and Open Source beginning with the first event on Jan. 7, 2009 themed "Mobile Computing." This event will be an exciting program targeted at customers and partners with ample opportunity for dynamic discussion along with an exchange of expertise. Among the panelists there will be systems engineer and consultant, Harald Milz, Manager of the Millenux Munich branch, who will be giving a presentation on Linux-based terminal server environments with some practical adaptations and extensions of NoMachine NX. It will also be an opportunity to foster awareness of NoMachine"s next major release, NX 4.0.0, and how it will extend its role even further within the concept of mobile computing. "Millenux is very pleased to be hosting this series of events, and I am sure that attendees will not be disappointed," says Milz. New Linux Kernel natively supports Centrino.
The recently released 2.6.14 Linux kernel has dozens of fixes, including eight from Linus Torvalds himself. Fixes for USB2 and NTFS were included, but the most interesting fix may be in wireless. The Intel Centrino wireless chipset is now a standard feature.

LG.Philips reportedly sets 8G substrate standard.
Market research firm DisplayBank is reporting that LG.Philips LCD has fixed the size of its eighth-generation (8G) glass substrate to 2200x2500mm, a size referred to by Taiwan LCD panel makers as "unfamiliar". The reported 8G substrate could be cut into eight 47" panels or six 55" panels and would be larger than the 8G substrates planned by Sharp, which plans to move into mass production at the world"s first 8G line in the second half of this year.
