Notebook Panel Prices To Remain Flat In April As Clients Resist Hikes.

Although LCD panel makers wish to increase their prices for the notebook segment, downstream vendors are aggressively resisting the hikes, with prices likely to stay flat in April compared to March, according to WitsView. WitsView said demand for notebook panels will gradually rise, as notebook OEM shipments are expected to increase an average of 2% per month in the second quarter.

IBM to unwrap first dual-core Xeon 'Paxville' servers.

Under a promotional deal to last through year-end, Big Blue will sell one of the servers for the same price as the single-core model it replaces, according to an IBM executive. The move is designed to provide an additional incentive for users to adopt dual-core computing sooner rather than later.
