Prices for 32" panels may fall below $300 to $290 in the third quarter of 2007, with quotes for 40" panels to also drop to nearly $500 during the period, according to Displaybank. With the sharp drop in panel prices, second-tier panel makers may swing to a loss in 2007, Displaybank indicated.

Sharp to share PC LCD patents with AU Optronics.

Japanese electronics maker Sharp said on Friday it had agreed to share technology on liquid crystal displays (LCD) used in personal computers with Taiwan"s AU Optronics.

PC makers slow move into LCD TV market.
