This Holiday season, give the gift of free tech support

TeamViewer lets you give your family what they really need, without spending a dime GOEPPINGEN, GERMANY, November 26, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This holiday season, new computers, not to mention new operating systems, will be high on a lot of wish lists. Unfortunately, with new gadgets invariably come new problems. How to install this, how to configure this, how to do this, where did that program go, and what"s a driver anyway? And if you"re a "go-to" person for friends or parents when things go wrong with their computers, then you"re going to be fielding quite a few phone calls after the holidays. Rather than dread this, why not turn it on its head and treat it as an opportunity. Give your parents and friends the gift they need the most this year: a year"s worth of IT support. This may be the best gift they get this year, and best of all it won"t cost you a dime. In addition to giving them your time, if you give them the gift of TeamViewer (a free download), then helping them fix their computer problems will be a breeze in 2010. TeamViewer lets you remotely control their computers, so YOU can drive when you"re helping them, rather than directing them over the phone to right-click here, left-click there, double-click this, open this and minimize that. Let"s face it, it can be maddening doing this over the phone. But with TeamViewer, you"ll be controlling their computer remotely, so the former 2 hours of pain fixing your Dad"s computer over the phone can now become 10 minutes once you"re controlling the mouse. Best of all, TeamViewer is free to download and free to use, which will fit a lot of budgets this holiday season. TeamViewer is one of the worldwide leaders in remote support and remote computer control. In fact, it is used on over 60 million computers worldwide. Due to its ease of installation and ease of use, it is widely used by many tech support professionals and IT departments. But the folks at TeamViewer have a big heart and have made it free for everyday people like you. You and your friends and family can simply download TeamViewer at www.teamviewer.com, and you"ll be up and running in under a minute with no set-up or configuration. Just send your friends and family a link to teamviewer.com, wrap a bow around yourself (after all, you"re really giving them your time), and your holiday shopping is done. TeamViewer also has VoIP and webcam calling built in. And a lot of people also use it to easily transfer large files from one computer to another across the country. You can send huge digital photos or videos directly to your friends" and family"s computers with a few clicks and without having to go through some complicated large-file-sharing site. Using TeamViewer for file transfer, file size is unlimited and it is completely free. So if you shoot a few hundred megabytes of videos this holiday season with your new digital camera, you can easily transfer them to your grandmother"s computer with no cost and minimal hassle for you or her. The videos or photos will seem to magically appear on her desktop. Just tell her to click on the videos, and voila, she"s watching them on her own computer. "At TeamViewer, we are happy to give the gift of free software to all our non-commercial users," begins Holger Felgner, Product Manager at TeamViewer. "We know that given the current economic climate, finding fun and full-featured gifts while remaining within restricted budgets is a marathon mission most gift-givers are facing this year. Now, people can give free TeamViewer software to their friends and family, and give of themselves by giving the gift of tech support. This clearly is a gift from the heart, and one that will keep on giving all year long. And if you"re deciding to have a holiday staycation this year, TeamViewer can also help you stay close to your family with free VoIP calling and large file transfers so you can easily share unlimited large video and photo files for free." Like all TeamViewer solutions, TeamViewer 5 respects the highest security standards, including black and white lists and AES 256 bit coding encryption. In addition, TeamViewer works behind firewalls, maintaining computer security already in place.

Recently the "in progress" operating system hit Milestone 3 (Build 6780) and has a street date of June 3, 2009. While there are plenty of screenshots to go around, watching Milestone 3 in action seems out of the question.
