Transcend unveils new OTG HDD, StoreJet.

Taiwan-based memory module maker Transcend Information recently announced the availability of a hard disk drive (HDD) based portable storage device called the StoreJet OTG (On-the-Go). The 1.8" 30 GB StoreJet OTG offers a USB 2.0 interface that can be used to connect directly with a variety of devices, such as mobile phones and digital cameras.

Speaking at the Podcast and Portable Media Expo in Ontario California, Paul Figgiani, a Senior Production Engineer at GigaVox, told attendees that basic podcasting rigs can be bought for less than $100. Amid the announcement of Intel"s new low-power processors, Atom, and corresponding platform for mobile Internet devices (MIDs) and Internet-centric computers, sources at Taiwan motherboard makers have revealed that Intel is planning to also introduce Atom processors along with supporting motherboards for the embedded market soon, a move which is likely to impact both VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS). The new Atom processor will come in two versions, single-core and dual-core, and so Intel has codenamed their respective motherboards Little Falls and Little Falls 2, the sources revealed.
